Industrial facilities demand concrete that can handle extreme loads, chemical exposure, and heavy equipment. RCC builds high-strength industrial slabs with precision engineering for manufacturing plants, distribution centers, and heavy industrial applications.

High-strength industrial slabs engineered for extreme demands
Industrial concrete slabs face challenges that go far beyond standard commercial work. Manufacturing equipment generating constant vibration, concentrated point loads from heavy machinery, chemical spills from industrial processes, and thermal cycling from production operations all demand concrete that's specifically engineered for these extreme conditions.
RCC designs and pours industrial slabs using high-strength concrete mixes, advanced reinforcement systems, and specialized surface treatments that protect your investment and keep your facility operating at peak performance for decades.
Engineered specifications for industrial concrete slabs by application.
#4 Grade 60 rebar grid on chairs
Heavy Grade 60 rebar grid with fiber reinforcement
Engineered Grade 60 rebar with thickened edges and footings
Post-tension cables with supplemental rebar
Steel cables are tensioned after the concrete cures, putting the slab in compression. This allows thinner slabs with fewer joints, reducing cracking and curl. Ideal for large open floor areas where joint-free surfaces are critical for operations.
Traditional rebar grids provide tensile strength to resist cracking. More cost-effective for smaller slabs and areas where joints are acceptable. Easier to cut and modify for future equipment changes or facility modifications.
Specialized surface treatments to protect and enhance your industrial floor.
Iron aggregate hardeners broadcast into the fresh concrete surface, increasing abrasion resistance by 50-100% over untreated concrete. Ideal for heavy traffic areas with steel-wheeled carts and forklifts.
Chemical-resistant coatings that protect the concrete from oils, solvents, acids, and other industrial chemicals. Available in multiple colors and textures for safety markings and zone identification.
Multi-step diamond grinding process that creates a dense, reflective surface resistant to dusting, staining, and wear. Low-maintenance option that improves light reflectivity and reduces cleaning costs.
The RCC Difference
Industrial slabs are engineered structures. Our slab standard specifies the mix, the steel, and the ground it all sits on.
Industrial work runs 5,000–6,000+ PSI depending on equipment loads — a step beyond the 4,000 PSI air-entrained standard we hold everywhere else. Any slab exposed to weather keeps full air entrainment for Northern Illinois's 25–30 annual freeze-thaw cycles.
Whether it's a conventional grid or supplemental steel in a post-tension design, our rebar is Grade 60 — #4 and #5 bars chaired in the lower third of the slab where machinery point loads create tension. Wire mesh alone can't be positioned reliably in a large pour and doesn't belong under heavy equipment.
Vibration and point loads punish weak bases. We excavate to design depth, treat or replace heavy clay sub-grades to eliminate differential settlement, and compact 4–6+ inches of CA-6 crushed limestone to specified density under every industrial slab.
