Commercial Concrete Services

Commercial Sidewalks & Curbs

ADA-compliant commercial sidewalks, curb and gutter installation, and trip hazard repair for commercial properties throughout McHenry and Lake County, IL.

Commercial Sidewalk & Curb Services

Safe, accessible walkways and curbing are critical for commercial properties — not just for appearance, but for liability protection. Trip hazards, ADA violations, and deteriorated curbing expose property owners to lawsuits and municipal fines.

Sidewalk Installation

New commercial sidewalk pours with proper base preparation, reinforcement, ADA-compliant slopes, and durable broom or decorative finishes.

ADA Ramp Construction

Fully compliant curb ramps with proper slopes, detectable warning surfaces, and level landings. Designed to meet or exceed current ADA standards.

Trip Hazard Removal

Section replacement, concrete grinding, and leveling to eliminate trip hazards before they become lawsuits. Fast turnaround to minimize business disruption.

Curb & Gutter

New curb and gutter installation, replacement of damaged sections, and transition curbing for parking lot entrances and exits.

Concrete Aprons

Driveway aprons and loading zone transitions built to handle heavy vehicle traffic with proper thickness and reinforcement.

Decorative Walkways

Stamped, colored, and exposed aggregate sidewalks for properties that want enhanced curb appeal with commercial-grade durability.

ADA Compliance Is Not Optional

Commercial properties must comply with ADA accessibility standards. Non-compliance exposes you to lawsuits, Department of Justice complaints, and municipal fines. We design every commercial sidewalk project to meet or exceed current standards.

The RCC Difference

Our Build Standard

Municipal specs are the minimum. Our sidewalk and curb standard is what keeps commercial walkways flat, safe, and lawsuit-free for decades.

4,000–4,500 PSI Air-Entrained Concrete

Commercial walkways and curbing get 4,000–4,500 PSI air-entrained concrete. With municipal salt trucks and 25–30 freeze-thaw cycles every Northern Illinois winter, air entrainment is what keeps a broom finish from scaling into a slip-and-trip liability.

#4 Grade 60 Rebar Where It Counts

Aprons, driveway crossings, and accessible ramps get #4 Grade 60 rebar set on chairs in the lower third of the slab — positioned to resist the tension that vehicle crossings create. We don't quote wire mesh as structural reinforcement; mesh pulled up during a pour can't hold panels together.

Compacted CA-6 Limestone Base

Trip hazards start as base failures. We excavate to proper depth, treat heavy clay parkway soils that heave with seasonal moisture, and compact 4–6 inches of CA-6 crushed limestone so panels stay flush at every joint.
